we're slowly but surely coming around to the modern day and age and realizing we can't just play music but that we need to tell people about it too. therefore, we will be making more of an effort to keep this blog updated as well as our twitter and facebook.
so check back and keep in touch!

Hadcore Will Never Die, But You Will

So we played a show in Delawhere before the new year at a tattoo shop with our friends FMRM. A strange but fun show which involved a lot of drinking, some of Delawheres finest country bumpkins and a debut of a new song, "This is the end so fuck you I never liked you from the begining". So now that we are back in DC and back to playing we will be playing a show at the Black Cat on Jan 24 with another band to be announced. We will be playing two new songs, one of which is actually a cover of a cover. That's right, were covering a cover of a cover.
Until the 24,

Shows that Show
So we are playing the Velvet Lounge on July 7 at 9pm with Tripp (sugary pop) and Animal (Brooklyn noise). We are excited to play again, and with a sound system no less. Not to mention it is Becca's birthday that same day, so the alcohol and kisses will surely be flowing...she is a very kissy drunk. We are working on some new material which we hope to play at some future shows, which we are currently working on booking both here in D.C as well as outside the four corners we currently find ourselves residing in.

Blind, Blind, Blind
So last night was a Silver Mt. Zion. Simply put, an amazing fucking show. I thought everything was tight, solid and together, though wished they had played a few older songs (to pretentious?). After the show, while helping them load out the gear, they seemed very disappointed in their performance and extremely unsatisfied. They just did not feel they were tight, they were having sound issues, etc. But I also think it was the crowd. DC is a tough music city. Rather than dance, we cross our arms. Rather than smile, we stare emotionless. Rather than sing along, we stand in silence. The show last night, in my bias opinion, also should have been twice as packed, as opposed to the two hundred and change there. I so often feel like this city is so lacking in creative and original art and music. While there are plenty of galleries popping up around the city, it has such a pretentious, quasi hip but still white and upper class feeling to it. And sure, there are plenty of bands around, though only a handful are of any interest or originality with the rest (who somehow represent this cities music) are complete shit. In booking this tour recently, it further depressed me to see all the communities and scenes that are occurring in other states. So many houses throwing shows, DIY venues and people to help, something this city has been lacking for sometime. I sometimes think that if we had this maybe we could all better help nurture a more arts and creativity within this city. But alas, this is not the case and this city is far to expensive to even attempt to allow much of this to happen. But it takes more than just some ranting on the Internet for any of this to happen, so there it is. Sorry to rant and rave.

Winter is over, Fuck this hibernation
So we are finally starting to play shows again. Not since last summer, when we played with Tiny Vipers which can be best described as an awkward and epic failure which we will someday share as a funny story on behind the music, have we played. The first show is at Bread and Brew on May 27 with our friend and amazing person Trevor AKA Triangle Shirt Factory. The show is at 8pm and is free.
The second show is in Gaithersburg Md at Chloe's Coffee on June 11. 301 for ever. This show is also at 8 and is free to all to join and enjoy.
Hope to see you.
